1931

Frank Edward Moran founded F.E. Moran in Northbrook, IL as a boiler and radiator installation service provider during the tract housing boom. Throughout the past eight decades, The F.E. Moran Group of Companies  has added seven additional business units to complete the spectrum of life comfort and life safety needs. The business units, or companies, provide service and maintenance for mechanical systems, plumbing, fire protection systems and security systems.

1957

F.E. Moran reopened as a piping contractor.

1969

The company added sheet metal and fabrication services.

1970

F.E. Moran Fire Protection was founded.

1970

Plumbing services were added, making F.E. Moran the only mechanical contractor in Illinois offering all four mechanical trades: piping, sheet metal, sprinkler and plumbing.

1977

Armon, a Northbrook, IL-based holding company, was established to support the infrastructure of The F.E. Moran Group of Companies.

1979

F.E. Moran Special Hazard Systems was created to provide solutions to high-risk, high-challenge environments.

1988

F.E. Moran Mechanical Services opened to offer service and maintenance to F.E. Moran customers.

2001

F.E. Moran Fire Protection National opened in Champaign, IL to support national accounts.

2019

F.E. Moran Refrigeration was created to serve the needs of industrial and commercial customers.

2020

F.E. Moran Industrial was added to meet the piping needs of the heavy-industry sector.
